The idea that the universe began from a single point and then exploded outwards was shared by many people before the last century. This idea was never refutable. It could always be said. But in the last century we were given a mathematical proof of the idea and it then became a part of science. It could fit all the other scientific facts we had discovered and collectively decided. It became popularly known as the Big Bang Theory.
The universe is still changing. But what we do know is that the way it works seems stable. It can be described as having ticked along steadily like a divine clockwork for billions and billions of years. There are facts about the universe that we know with certainty. This helps us do things here on Earth. There is an undoubted Sanctified Grace about the universe.
Things were quite settled at the scale of the universe when our own solar system started to form, only billions of years after the Big Bang. This early stage of a star is known as a Brown Dwarf. The atoms thrash and explode but eventually come together quite naturally in a way that we can actually now describe using scientific language. The Brown Dwarf then becomes a solar system.
After another few billion years our own planet had formed into as it looks today. It then took a long time before human consciousness emerged. This human consciousness was different to anything that had been in the hundreds of millions of years of life on Earth before. There had been species using simple tools before. But what a person would today call humankind emerged only now.
We had slowly evolved to this point of time in the history of the Earth even as other forms had evolved along other paths. This is where Genesis 2 of the Bible explains that Adam under Gods license; was told to give names to all the things that He had made. This is a type of Creation Grace. It is still a huge responsibility.

The Bible can be taken as a mythological explanation of what has come before on Earth. There are many instances of Actual Grace. This is similar to an actual miracle or a divine intervention. There are stories about this all over the world in every culture and society. These mythological stories and songs are testament to something divine and that we humans are part of this larger story. Since all the discoveries and establishment of facts that happened in the last century, we are now clearly part of something bigger. With new responsibilities for each of us and mankind generally.
There is also a Pre-Creation Grace which is one more of the six that I heard from listening to a radio show one Sunday. This can be presented using what are very old cosmological probiles or established spoken arguments for the existence of God. There is still a mystery to the universe and its origin before the Big Bang.
There must be some form of Immovable Mover holding space-time in a frame. Then there is also surely a First-Cause that is again outside of space-time. These are not facts. They are not based on empirical observation. But accepting the logic of them helps us believe and get a handle on something bigger. The process of establishing an actual scientific fact is governed by epistemology. This is the branch of philosophy that examines the nature, origin, and limits of knowledge. It can also be explained as the theory of knowledge.
There can be revolutions in science. If an observed fact emerges that challenges everything established before, then scientists might find themselves in a crisis. This is where the community of practitioners come together and hopefully, even after decades, devise a scientific explanation. There is a process of incremental change that some people ascribe to Thomas Kuhn, and there are revolutions that upend everything because of the crisis, which is what many associate with Karl Popper. This is about the actual practice of developing science forward.
I was once watching a late-night astronomy show during college. The show explained that a deep space radio on earth had detected a flow of energy which suggested a certain size of star. This is following the famous E = MC² statement. But the energy hitting earth implied something of a particular mass or size, yet the energy transmitted was too high and the mass too small, making the famous statement false. This was a recent crisis.
This also upset what we know about gravity, because something with that level of energy should be a certain size. This went against the factual observations of the other nearby objects. There is also a type of Operating Grace that relates to how the universe works.
Humans have slowly learned these rules that govern space-time and the cosmos. The television show explained to the viewer visually that a black hole was emitting the energy in a powerful type of ultralight beam. It was a ray of energy bursting out from the centre of the black hole.
This observation actually led to one of the bigger scientific events of this century. Many years after the television show they were eventually able to explain the ultralight beam in mathematical language and they called the new special energy Hawking Radiation. The new celestial phenomenon was now named after a scientist who had done early work last century on black holes.
I stated on the first page that every black hole started as a neutron star, but not every neutron star becomes a black hole. I also learned from the lectures about neutron stars. There is a type of electron degenerative pressure that holds the neutron star constant across space-time. There are of course little Higgs-Bosuns emerging at the quantum level as the neutron star crackles along and it just sits in place at the solar system level. It keeps giving out and just sits in its place in that galaxy.
This is a type of exegesis which is a term that can be explained as interpreting things as they really are intended. There is another term eisegesis which is where a person leans in to a thing and only sees themselves when they try to explain. It is often used in academia. The circles getting bigger or smaller on the other page might be useful now.
I think that God gave life to our planet. The New Testament has four gospels and I know that the gospel according to John begins by him describing his time in the company of Jesus with that in the beginning there was the word and that it was the word of God. He recounted his actual experience of what happened during a few years a few thousand years ago. There is some type of higher super consciousness as well as each of our own. This collective spirit is what really matters.
There is a final Cooperative Grace to the six I write about on this page. There have been many other moral exemplars in human history. It is even possible for the average person to listen to others and their ideas without getting too worked up about the person. The eisegesis interpretation can test another person. It can be good to just breathe and wait until an ordinary explanation arrives. There are miserable sorts struggling everywhere.
But when Jesus lived on Earth, he knew that we had come to a new stage in humankind and that human consciousness and humankind was something to be rightfully exulted. He saw the possibilities for each of us and what was good, virtuous and righteous. There have been other prophets too and other religions before and since his time. In the world today human consciousness requires us to steer things or to steward Gods providence as has always been the way everywhere.
Since all the discoveries and establishment of facts that happened in the last century, and this one too, we all know now that we are part of something bigger within something else. Yet there are new responsibilities for each of us and humankind generally. Today each of us encountering spiritual knowledge needs to have Virarity with regard other persons and on the internet especially. That is a new word that comes from an Italian term to describe steering a ship on the ocean.
